For almost 200 years, humans have enjoyed the benefits of chiropractic care. Chiropractic care is for much more than back and neck pain. People see benefits in the form of decreased pain, increased energy and clarity of thought, improved sleep, improved immunity, allergy relief, fertility, and much, much more.
Your nervous system controls your ENTIRE BODY. All the processes and systems in your body have a direct connection via nerve pathways. Some of which include, heart and blood vessels, digestive system, hormone production, immune system, muscular and skeletal system, reproductive system, respiratory system all what we hear, see, taste, touch, smell feel, and even our thoughts emotions and conscious and subconscious behaviors.
Your brain and spinal cord are protected by the bone, which is pound for pound, harder than cast iron or steel. This important protective casing contributes to your body’s ability to function at its best. For the body to be healthy, it must be able to adapt to internal and external forces.
However, the body can be subjected to experiences that may overwhelm its ability to fully adapt due to several types of stress. This stress impacts the spine and nervous system which can create vertebral subluxations. Vertebral subluxations are like static in a communication system. This static prevents the brain from accurately perceiving what is happening in the body and from properly regulating bodily functions.
Often vertebral subluxations are present WITHOUT pain or symptoms.
Vertebral subluxations reduce the function of the body and may manifest an increased aptitude for disorder, illness, dysfunction, and dis-ease.
Just like humans, animals of all shapes and sizes have complex nervous systems that face interference from vertebral subluxations, too. Chiropractic care is for every living being with a spine. Unfortunately, animals can’t verbally tell us what they are experiencing, what it is they need and most of the time they do not experience any symptoms until the dysfunction is quite significant. It is our responsibility as their caretakers to be proactive and get their spine checked by a certified animal chiropractor to correct interference in their spine and encourage them to thrive.
Symptoms of nervous system interference in dogs, for instance, can be pain, digestion issues, skin conditions, sitting funny, altered gait (movement) patterns, allergies, anxiety, muscle spasms, torticollis, tremors, or incontinence, or as I said before NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL.
As I said before, vertebral subluxations (or nervous system interference) are caused by the stressors that are greater than our body’s ability to adapt to them. These stressors can be from traumas, toxins, and thoughts within our lives via physical, chemical, and emotional stressors. Traumas, big or small, falls, accidents, or poor posture. Toxins include poor nutrition, medications, or chemicals in our food, water, environment, or air. One of the biggest contributors to our subluxations are stressful thoughts. This includes our emotions, fears, internal stress, or negative attitudes. We as humans carry traumas, toxins, and thoughts with us throughout our lives and within our bodies. So do animals!
An unobstructed nerve system is essential for the body to be healthy and well. The brain and body function more harmoniously and adapt to stressors more successfully WITHOUT subluxations. Chiropractors are the ONLY profession that corrects vertebral subluxations, which unlocks the body’s potential to heal and express life and health at 100%.
As we all know, our animals play hard and deal with traumas of some level on a daily basis. They sleep in strange positions, run into things, sit inside all day or even in their cage. Something that might not be on everyone’s radar is the physical, emotional, and chemical stressors that rescue animals endure before finding their forever home. Animals that live in shelters hold onto their fear, feelings of rejection, and lack of physical touch. These shelter animals can also deal with weight gain or loss from their sedentary lifestyle and suffer from engrained behaviors in their nervous system. Fortunately, with love, consistency, and chiropractic care, shelter animals have the ability to thrive once again! Consistent chiropractic care can really help rescue animals to adapt and live happy lives in their new, deserving homes.
The spinal column of animals has a lot of functions and responsibilities:
1. Houses and protects the spinal cord and nervous system
2. Supports the head
3. Serves as an attachment for limbs and muscles
4. Transport messages from the brain down the spinal cord to the rest of the body!
Sounds pretty important, right?!
Animal rescue is near and dear to my heart and with four rescues of our own, we have seen past traumas released and healed through regular animal chiropractic care.
This February, and in 2020, let’s all share the LOVE and health we have by giving back. Look into your local animal shelter for ways to donate time or money to their facility.
If each of us can do a little, we can make a difference in the lives of innocent animals everywhere! With volunteers and resources, shelter animals could face less traumas.
For the month of February our office is collecting physical and monetary donations to Day Before the Rainbow Rescue.
Dr. Kayla volunteers her animal chiropractic services to this rescue and is very passionate about helping rescue animals heal and thrive in their new adoptive homes.
Please consider a donation to help support this wonderful group.
Living LOVE & LIGHT to you,
